Save Tennessee Summers is a statewide coalition of parents, teachers and community members disappointed with the ever-earlier start to the school year.

Our mission is to educate consumers of the education system, taxpayers and other interested people about the negative impact early-August school start dates and non-traditional school calendars have on our students, teachers, families and school budgets.

We encourage all parents to let their school board members know they do not support early-August school start dates and offer to work on the calendar committee. It is our hope that we can work with parents and school districts to help establish educationally and fiscally sound school calendars; school calendars that allow more money to flow into teachers' salaries, classroom supplies and educational services... without a heavier tax burden on Tennessee families.

Save Tennessee Summers is run by the generosity of volunteer supporters.  Expenses are paid directly by supporters and Save Tennessee Summers does not fundraise or have a bank account.
